Vijay Thakur is an independent Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) verifier with 10 years of professional experience in product sustainability, greenhouse gas accounting, and environmental performance assessment. He supports manufacturers, consultants, and program operators in ensuring that environmental declarations, carbon footprints, and sustainability disclosures are methodologically robust, standards-compliant, and transparently communicated.

Vijay has verified more than 100 EPDs across construction materials, industrial and manufactured products, chemicals, metals, and consumer goods. His verification and assurance experience also extends to product carbon footprints (PCF), organizational level greenhouse gas inventories, and sustainability reporting and assurance engagements, including BRSR-aligned disclosures. His work involves close coordination with program operators, certification bodies, and project teams to address technical issues related to data quality, system boundaries, allocation, emission factor selection, and standards interpretation.

Prior to working as an independent verifier, Vijay held senior technical and leadership roles at Intertek, where he was responsible for leading and reviewing complex LCA studies, EPD developments, and third-party critical reviews for global portfolios. Earlier in his career, he worked in technical and project delivery roles at Tata Steel, Eaton, and thinkstep (now Sphera), contributing to product sustainability assessments, life cycle modelling, and corporate environmental initiatives across diverse industrial sectors. His verification approach is grounded in technical rigor, professional independence, and a practical understanding of industry-specific sustainability challenges.
